Manar Shedid's father encouraged her to realize her dreams, supporting her work in journalism despite the challenges of the field. When he passed away, Manar inherited his Qalyub marble workshop and decided to run it with her sister and mother, both to uphold her father's reputation in the industry and secure continued income for their all-female family. Now Manar balances between journalism and the workshop, in a world that's "as hard as stone," as she puts it.
