As the first groups of Palestinian prisoners are being released from Israeli jails, part of the ceasefire deal that commenced last week after more than 15 months of incessant war, Mada Masr spoke with two freed captives: a woman released in the previous prisoner exchange in late 2023, and an elderly prisoner freed when his sentence ended in 2024. They speak about the circumstances of their arrests and conditions within Israeli prisons during the war, as well as the treatment of other Palestinians they were imprisoned with during this time.
