Makram Salama's love of cinema made him a collector of all things vintage film-related, and through this hobby he's salvaged much of their material history from ruin. Over decades of collecting, Salama has turned his home into a cinema archive that includes copies of documentary films, posters, documents, and photography negatives from hundreds of commercial films produced in Egypt from the 1930s to 1970s. Through this archive, Salama hopes to preserve the heritage and values of what he deems a golden era.
