Video | From Planet Kaio: The Synaptik
Laith al-Husseini (The Synaptik) is a Jordanian artist of Palestinian origin. He began writing and performing rap eight years ago while studying medicine. After graduating, he decided to go into music professionally and moved to Ramallah. His debut album, Om Al Mawjat (2018), was varied and rich, and featured collaborations with El Rass, Bu Kolthoum, Abyusif, El Far3i and Mehrak. Husseini's stage name was inspired by his interest in psychology and medicine, and reflects how he views his musical process as a transformation of thoughts and emotions into sound. Ahmed El Sabbagh spoke to The Synaptik about his music, new album, the Arab hip-hop scene and other interests.
