Despite the illegality of selling goods in Cairo metro carriages, itinerant vendors take the risk of earning a living by selling to passengers, who make purchases during their transit without having to visit shops. We took a ride on Al-Marg-Helwan Metro Line 1 to speak with vendors and their customers, and yes, while at it, we bought kitchen gadgets, clothes and beauty products.
