Prime minister to open new center for citizen complaints Sunday

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb will open a center on Sunday to receive complaints from citizens, privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm reported on Friday.

In comments to the media, head of the initiative Sherif Badr said the center believes in the need to involve citizens in decision-making, adding that public opinion is important to the government, the daily newspaper reported.

Badr described the opening of the center as a “real step to applying the transparency and credibility advocated by the revolutions of January 25 and June 30.”

On Thursday the prime minister called on a number of ministries to create monthly plans with clear definable goals, Al-Masry Al-Youm added.

Issues addressed by the prime minister in his correspondence with the ministries include sanitation, roads, hygiene and education.

These successes, the prime minister said, will be “highlighted and publicized as a strong and clear message from the government to citizens of the importance that the government places on solving their problems, providing for their basic needs and developing services for them.”
