Interior minister visits Ismailia bomb site
Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim visited Ismailia governorate on Friday to inspect the sight of a blast that claimed one life and injured 35 others at a Central Security Forces camp on Thursday evening, reported the sate-run Middle East News Agency (MENA).
These terrorist attacks are a reaction to the “successful security measures that resulted in the arrest of terrorist elements and exposing their plots,” said Ibrahim, as quoted by MENA.
Eye witnesses said the blast was caused by a car bomb that detonated on Ezz Eddin Road, according to the state-run news portal Ahram Gate.
The minister vowed that a task force of high-ranking security personnel would be formed to investigate the attack and capture the perpetrators.
Ibrahim visited the security personnel injured in the attack at the Ismailia Military Hospital, and paid his condolences to the family of the deceased conscript.
Last month, an explosion rocked the military intelligence building in Ismailia, injuring six soldiers.
The frequency of militant attacks on security checkpoints, CSF camps and military installations has dramatically increased since former President Mohamed Morsi was forcibly removed from office by the Armed Forces on July 3.
