4 Brotherhood members arrested in Sohag

On Tuesday evening four members of the Muslim Brotherhood were arrested in Sohag. Rafat Mahmoud, 29, was arrested in connection with charges of committing violence following the break up of the Rabea al-Adaweya sit-in on August 14. Churches were attacked and 14 people died during the violence in the Upper Egyptian governorate.

Ahmed Mohamed Qassem, 34, Abul Magd Abdel Nasser, 19 and Hussein Mahmoud Abdel Hameed, 37, were also arrested, the state news agency MENA reported.

In a separate case, 104 supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi and members of the Muslim Brotherhood are being sent to appear before the Cairo Criminal Court on charges of committing violence, destroying public property, murder and attempted murder. They are alleged to have committed these acts during protest marches in July.

In Monufiya, Brotherhood leader and former Shura Council member Yousry Abdel Satar Taleb was arrested in connection with charges of inciting violence and chaos.
