Video | Nothing at all

When the heaviness of Cairo in the shadow of coronavirus becomes unbearable, Ahmed escapes to the lightness of Sinai, where there is "wala Haga," nothing at all.
Ahmed Rahal is a filmmaker from Alexandria based in Cairo with three documentaries to his name: "Shaabi," about rising musical stars in independent, working-class mass culture, "Underground," about old-school Egyptian rap beyond Cairo, and "The Files of Hanafy al-Fil," which examines concepts of masculinity in Egyptian society.
The "Right here and now" series is a personal documentation of experiences and concerns as they are lived and felt. Poetic, quirky and cutting edge, these videos explore nuances of being human today in the often bewildering world we all share, as individually captured through the unique lenses of auteur filmmakers.
