As traditional mud-brick homes began disappearing in al-Bahariya Oasis, Mahmoud Eid built such a house to preserve the oasis's architectural heritage. Gradually expanding into a mud-brick palace, the museum also showcases his clay works documenting traditional oasis life. Today, his son Mostafa maintains the museum and his father's legacy, adding his own oasis-inspired artwork of sand and stone.
