Alexandria's trams are a form of public transportation with a long history. An icon of the coastal city, they hold a special place in the experiences and memories of their users. In this video, we take a trip on Alexandria's trams and hear from people with a strong connection to them: a tram driver who faced death and found love while on the job, a visitor who rides to remember his childhood and the trams that used to run in Cairo's streets, a ticket collector raised on the tramline and who celebrates the Eid onboard, and a young woman who ties the major milestones of her life to passing by the tram stations throughout the city.
