Woman displaying Swine Flu symptoms dies in Qalyubiya

A middle-aged woman, reportedly diagnosed with Swine Flu, died on Thursday in Qalyubiya, reported state-owned portal EgyNews.

The housewife was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus and kept in intensive care for 24 hours.

Secretary of the Health Ministry, Zakaria Abd Rabo said that the state of emergency was applied in all ER units. He said that masks and vaccines are available for doctors and nurses throughout the governorate, in addition to TamiFlu medication for patients and their families, or anyone in direct contact with them. The official added that the medicine is given to all patients, even before the results of their medical analysis are confirmed, to ensure a speedier recovery and avoid fatalities.

Hala Abdel Fattah, 42 years old, was admitted to Banha Hospital with symptoms similar to those of Swine Flu — cardiac arrest, high fever and paralysis. The patient was quarantined in the liver care unit inside the hospital, but she died before the results of her medical analysis were out.

The Doctors Syndicate led a strike this week following the deaths of four physicians, allegedly from the Swine Flu virus. However, the World Health Organization and the Health Ministry denied the claims, stating that all doctors were vaccinated against the virus.
