Sunday declared an official holiday to celebrate presidential inauguration

Sunday, June 8 has been declared an official holiday, stated television reported earlier this afternoon, in order to celebrate the inaugural ceremony of President-elect Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, which will take place at the Qubba Palace on that day.

The ceremony is expected to begin at the Constitutional Court in Maadi before moving to the presidential palace.

Interim President Adly Mansour has invited 22 world leaders and the heads of a number of international institutions to the ceremony.

The day will witness numerous celebrations, with a number of politicians, artists and social figures organizing a ceremony in honor of the interim president to thank him for his efforts during his time in office.

The ceremony includes a celebratory sit-in at Ettehadiya Palace.

The Presidential Election Commission announced Field Marshal Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as the new president of Egypt last Tuesday, stating that he had received 23,780,104 votes — 96.9 percent of the total number of valid votes.
