Sisi to be sworn in as president on Sunday

The presidential inaugural ceremony is to take place on Sunday, June 8 at the Qubba Palace, privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm reported on Tuesday.

Interim President Adly Mansour invited a numbers of world leaders, in addition to the heads of several international institutions to the ceremony, the newspaper added.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Badr Abdel Atty stated yesterday that Egyptians embassies abroad took on the delivery of the invitations.

Meanwhile, a number of politicians and artists are organizing a ceremony on the same day to honor and celebrate the efforts of the interim president. The ceremony will take place at 6 pm.

A sit-in titled "Thank you President Adly Mansour" will take place in front of Ettehadiya Palace on Tuesday as well.

Mansour, previously the head of the Supreme Court, was sworn in as the country's interim president last July a day following the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi. Mansour is the second interim president in the history of Egypt, after Sufi Abu Taleb who held the position for a week following the assassination of former President Anwar Sadat.
