Sisi campaign office attacked in Luxor

Sisi campaign office attacked in Luxor

Three unidentified assailants attacked the headquarters of presidential candidate Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's campaign in Luxor, injuring campaign member Saoud Ammar al-Tawab, state owned EGYNews reported.

The news portal said that at around 7 pm on Sunday evening, during a power cut, three attackers broke into the headquarters with sticks and an electric taser.

Tawab suffered from severe wounds and fractures and was taken to Luxor International Hospital.

Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.

Supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi blame Sisi for his role in ousting the Islamist leader, while much of the nation sees the ex-military man as a national hero amid a spate of ongoing attacks on the police and Armed Forces.
