Pro-Morsi marches and protests in Cairo

Supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsi started to gather after midday prayers Tuesday to march from A'sad Bin Al-Farat Mosque in Dokki to the nearby pro-Morsi sit-in in Nahda Square sit-in to participate in today's demonstrations called for by the Islamist coalition National Alliance to Support Legitimacy dubbed “Resilience.”

Dozens of pro-Morsi protesters also gathered in front of the Supreme Constitutional Court in Maadi, which led to slow movement of traffic on Corniche al-Maadi. The Morsi presidency had frequently clashed with the judiciary, in particular after the November 2012 constitutional declaration which put his decisions beyond judicial review.

The protesters chanted against the ouster of former President Morsi carried out by the military on July 3, holding banners saying, “Sisi leave, Morsi is my president,” and “Down with military rule.”
