Israel bombs Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, kills at least four

The Occupation military targeted the Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza on Sunday with airstrikes that killed at least four people and injured 17.

The attack is the latest to target one of Gaza’s health facilities, a majority of which have been destroyed and made dysfunctional by Israel’s six-month-long aggression on the strip.

Gaza’s Government Media Office said that the Occupation bombed tents belonging to journalists and displaced Palestinians within the hospital complex in Deir al-Balah on Sunday.

The airstrikes killed at least four Palestinians and wounded 17 more according to reports, including as many as 10 journalists according to some Palestinian outlets.

The occupation military claimed that it was a precise operation targeting a command center belonging to the Islamic Jihad movement inside the hospital grounds. The military has used similar claims in the past to justify numerous attacks targeting Gaza’s healthcare system.

Gaza’s largest medical facility, the Shifa Medical Complex, is currently under an ongoing siege with repeated raids killing and wounding hundreds, including medical staff and patients already displaced due to the Occupation’s violence.

So far, 400 people have been killed since the operation on Shifa began in recent days, the Health Ministry in Gaza said on Sunday.

Nasr Children’s Hospital in Gaza City and Amal Hospital in Khan Younis were also attacked and placed under military siege last week.

Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the latest massacre in its Sunday statement and called on “all international, regional and local organizations related to health and medical work to condemn this terrible crime.” In the statement, it held the US and the international community responsible for providing military and political support to the occupation and its war on Gaza.

The Gaza Health Ministry said on Sunday that 32,782 people have been killed in the 177 days of Israel’s aggression on the strip so far, with 75, 298 left injured.
