Former minister summoned for Rabea questioning
The prosecution general office has ordered that former Information Minister Salah Abdel Maqsoud be summoned for questioning in relation to the misuse of six satellite transmission vehicles during the Rabea al-Adaweya sit-in staged by Muslim Brotherhood supporters.
Amr al-Khafeef, former head of the engineering sector within the state Television Broadcasting Union, is currently in detention pending investigation into the incident, when Morsi supporters at the sit-in are alleged to have seized then looted and destroyed the six vehicles, worth LE40 million.
Khafeef, reportedly a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, is alleged to have abused his position in order to send the vehicles to broadcast from the sit-in despite recommendations to pull them out because of the risk of their being damaged.
