Eight people killed in early morning bus accident
Seven Egyptians and one Syrian died Monday morning when a tourist bus crashed into a truck on the desert road near Beni Suef, the state-run Egynews reported.
Twenty-four people were also injured in the accident.
The news portal reported that the bus was traveling from Cairo to Minya when it crashed into a parked truck and flipped over. Heavy fog was said to have reduced visibility.
Road accidents claim about 12,000 lives every year in Egypt, according to the World Health Organization.
