3 alleged terrorists killed on Ain Sokhna road
Military forces killed 3 alleged terrorists on Thursday and arrested 6 others in clashes on the Qattamiya-Ain Sokhna Road, privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.
A military source said that the takfiri jihadis were coming from Sinai and tried to infiltrate Suez and Cairo with aim of carrying out attacks against security forces.
The source added that several Bedouin tribes have aided the Armed Forces in tracking down the terrorists, who took the desert road and several dangerous mountain paths to avoid checkpoints.
Last month, three people were killed and 54 other suspected terrorists were arrested in raids in North Sinai, Ismailia, Damietta and Daqahlia.
In April, security forces killed three militants during an attack on a security checkpoint in Sheikh Zuwayed. The attack was followed by a military raid that resulted in four arrests.
The Sinai peninsula has been the scene of several attacks on security personnel and facilities especially checkpoints. Following the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi, security has launched a crackdown on terrorist cells in the peninsula.
