130 arrested in Kerdasa
Kamal al-Daly, the head of Giza Security Directorate, announced that security forces arrested 130 persons, including 9 jihadis, during the crackdown Kerdasa region on Thursday, Al-Ahram reported Sunday.
The security forces are combing the surrounding agricultural areas to catch leading Muslim Brotherhood figure Mahmoud Ghozlan, Tarek al-Zomor from Jama’a al-Islamiya and other wanted fugitives, Daly added.
Police forces, backed by army troops, raided the Kerdasa area last Thursday morning, claiming that Islamist militants were barricaded there.
The Ministry of Interior announced that the Kerdasa mission will continue and will target specific figures who attacked the Kerdasa police station on August 14, killing officers and soldiers and parading their bodies.
