Video | Beyond the factory: The zincographer
Mohamed Belya learned zincography — the art of etching on zinc to form a printing plate — from his uncle as a child. Intrigued by the flow of colorful chemicals and gradual development of images on metal surfaces, Belya grew up to become a master zincographer. He currently works with three friends and his teenage son (who aspires to become a professional football player) in his Cairo rooftop workshop. During Mada's visit, Belya and his team shared their stories and experiences in the profession.
