Video | Forced displacement in the South Hebron Hills
After repeated settler attacks on Khirbet Zanuta in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers forced residents to evacuate their homes last October under the threat of being killed. On January 31, activists monitored settlers fencing off the forcibly evacuated Palestinian land in the South Hebron Hills. Mada Masr visited one of Khirbet Zanuta's former residents in his place of refuge to speak about the community's forced displacement, a pattern that has noticeably increased across the West Bank since last October, according to the on-the-ground monitoring of B'Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.
