Three arrested in Mohandiseen shooting
Security forces arrested three people involved in a shootout in Mohandiseen on Wednesday, state news agency MENA reported.
Eyewitnesses said unidentified gunmen started shooting from on top of a building on Al-Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street, targeting a dual police and army checkpoint.
A security source told MENA that no weapons were found on those detained and that security forces are still searching the building from which the shooting started.
Al-Ahram reported that a passerby and a soldier were injured in the shootout.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Interior explained that the shooting had started at around 4.30 pm, after which security forces moved to secure the area.
A special team has been formed to investigate the incident, the statement said.
