Police and military fight over parking spot
Police officers and military personnel clashed on Sunday in the vicinity of Imbaba Police Station when a junior ranking police officer parked his motorcycle in front of an army tank, privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.
When the conscript objected and asked the officer to move his motorcycle, they clashed for several minutes, media reports said.
Both sides fired tear gas to disperse the crowd, but no casualties were reported, Al-Masry Al-Youm detailed.
The situation calmed when military police forces arrived and the army tank moved position.
Security official General Mahmoud Farouk told Al-Masry Al-Youm that a reconcilatory report was filed by both parties at the police station after police and army officers intervened to resolve the conflict.
