Driver killed after allegedly running over pro-Morsi protesters

A taxi driver was killed after his car was set ablaze in Mansoura on Monday.

Protesters affiliated with the deposed Muslim Brotherhood group killed a taxi driver in the northern city of Mansoura, setting his car ablaze after he allegedly ran over a group of female protesters marching against the military-backed interim government.

The official page of the Brotherhood's outlawed political wing, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), shared a Youtube video allegedly showing the driver running over demonstrators. The page referred to unconfirmed news of the death of one of the female protesters in the incident.

State-owned Middle East News Agency (MENA) referred to a statement by the Ministry of Interior, saying that 34 year-old driver, Mohamed Kamal Badr, was transferred to hospital, where he died, after a group of Brotherhood supporters chased him with knives and Molotov cocktails.

The ministry added that the protest was dispersed and 10 were arrested, MENA reported.
