4 police officers killed, 12 injured in Arish bombing
Four police personnel were killed and 12 were injured in a bombing targeting a police vehicle in Arish in North Sinai, state-owned Al-Ahram reported on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses reported that a bomb, planted near Arish International Road close to the Midan checkpoint in western Arish, was remotely detonated as a police vehicle was passing through.
Those injured, according to Al-Ahram, were transferred to the nearest hospital as security forces combed the area for additional explosives.

The Province of Sinai, the Islamic State’s Egypt affiliate, claimed responsibility for the attack, in which militants bombed a police vehicle and exchanged fire with security forces guarding the checkpoint.
The Islamic State also claimed responsibility for the bombing of a residential building in the Giza district of Haram, which left at least seven people killed and injured 13 others. The Interior Ministry stated that three police officers died in the explosion, one civilian was killed and two other victims have yet to be identified, according to a statement posted on its Facebook page. One National Security officer died from his injuries.
