Video | A foot in Egypt, a heart still in Gaza
Sabrine Dali entered Egypt through the Rafah border crossing with her children and mother on April 24, seeking refuge from Israel's ongoing war on the Gaza Strip. Her husband, who had not yet obtained official permission to cross, had to remain behind, with hopes to join them in the near future. Then, on May 7, Israeli forces took control of the crossing’s Palestinian side, and the border has remained closed since. Sabrine welcomed Mada Masr into her latest temporary home in 6th of October City to share with us her experiences in Israel’s war, including the unexpected separation of her family.
