‘The Queue’ by Basma Abdel-Aziz

The Queue is evocative of George Orwell’s dystopias, of Kafkaesque surrealism, and of the dark satire of Sonallah Ibrahim’s The Committee, but could perhaps best be described as dystopic realism.
